Smallmouth Bass Fishing Great on the Grande Ronde
Grande Ronde Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Smallmouth bass fishing on the Grande Ronde is a treat. This is definitely a sleeper fishery. Fishing the Grande Ronde River for some pesky bronze-backs remains good. The water flows remain stable, therefore fishing will remain solid. Our guided fishing trips start at Boggans Oasis. We take a 9 mile float down river to our Shoemaker grade takeout. There are lots and lots of 12 to 15 inch fish. Because of the limited traffic, we are able to catch fish in the 5-6 pound class as well.
Smallmouth Post Spawn
Post spawn can be a great time to fish with bass looking for feed. Casting Kalins Jigs into the soft seams is deadly. Rapalas Shad Raps in crawdad colors are top producers also. Its not uncommon to catch 100 bass in a day! The Grande Ronde truly is a gem, small in size, big in fun. Besides the awesome fishing, the canyon is breathtaking. The weather is not too shabby too.
Stott’s Guide Service for
Tom Bullock is our Grande Ronde specialist. Our guide service owns a 19 ft. Willy’s Drift boat that fishes 4 anglers. We still have some time to catch these critters throughout most of the month of July or until the water gets too low to float. Give us a shout to get in on this breathe taking float trip down one of Northwests best kept smallmouth bass fishing secrets. Lodging is available at Boggan’s Oasis and camping is near-by.
