Columbia River Winter Walleye smashing jigs!
Jig Fishing Best Bet
Want to catch more Columbia River walleye during winter time? Die hard walleye anglers know this time of the year can be productive jigging ledges off the current breaks where winter walleye like to hang. This last week we isolated around spots like this and found active walleye late mornings when the water temp showed a spike. We keyed into water depth and presentation. 40-50 foot was the sweet spot and keeping your jigs just off the bottom with a short twitching action that allowed the bait to stay in the zone was critical. Boat control and line angle all factored in, something captain Eubank is a master of. We caught good numbers and some really big fish too! We released the bigger fish back to the water for our future generation. Yes, Columbia river winter walleye fishing can be rewarding and fishing jigs can be your secret weapon!
