Do I have to be an experienced angler?
Coach Our Anglers

We like to think of ourselves as your private coach and work with anglers of every skill level. Our goal is to make each angler a better fisherman and provide them with a great fishing experience. All of our guides are fathers and husbands and make fishing a family experience. We can assure you’ll have a great experience with one of Stott’s Pro Staffers.

Is there a minimum person requirement?
Private Guided Trips

We have a 2 Person minimum with all our trips and we don’t mix our groups which means it is your private boat for the day. Our jet boats are licensed to fish maximum of 6 anglers and we can fish large groups, up to 36 people. Our drift boats can fish up to 4 anglers and we own 4 drift boats.

Where are you located?
Fishing World Class Water

We are located right in the middle of some of the best steelhead and salmon fishing in the Untied States. Stotts fishes year-round guiding on the best rivers throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Our home office is in Lewiston Idaho, the lower part of the panhandle. Our Lewiston fishing extends more than 100 miles between the Clearwater River and the Snake River in the Hells Canyon area. We have lots of lodging options and a local airport that hubs Alaska and Delta Airlines. Stott’s guide team travels to other Pacific northwest fisheries for the duration of each area’s fishing season. Feel free to call for travel arrangements and local lodging recommendations.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation Policy

All cancellation notices must be received in writing 30 days prior to your guided trip in order to receive a full refund. Our guides work hard to plan for each guided trip and last-minute cancellations are frowned upon. What other species can I fish?
Year-Round Fishing

Feel free to click on the home page species tabs to see where you can find a Stott’s Fishing Guide. Our fishing team is dedicated in becoming the best fishing guide on each fishery we offer guided trips on.

Can I fish with another group?
Private Trips

We respect each anglers experience and want to make sure we do our part in providing that. Clients pick their fishing group members and will not impose on other groups or fishing parties. We do accept single inquiry’s for anglers looking to fish with another single but will not mix our groups.

Whats the best time to fish the Clearwater?
Signature Fishery

Our Clearwater fishing starts in September and goes through March. Each month offers anglers a different fishing experience. The Lewiston Valley has mild temperatures and offers some terrific winter steelhead fishing. Early season we have great weather and the fish have just entered the river. Lots of side drifting shallow riffles and tail-outs with our light line presentations. Fishing in late fall and winter transitions more to deep holding water for some big number days. Diver and bait can be deadly in rock gardens that lie in the bottom run of a tail-out. Our river gets 5 to 6 pushes of fish throughout the season and putting anglers on steelhead isn’t a problem. We’ll do our best to recommend the best time to fish based on your group’s wish list. There are lots of intangibles before deciding when to book. Weather, fish, methods, water levels, lodging, travel and guide availability are all part of it.

What is the deposit to book a trip?
Keep It Simple

At the time of booking, we require a 50% deposit. The remaining balance can be paid at the end of your fishing trip by cash, check, or credit card. We are also able to invoice company trips and ask that payment be received within 30 days post trip. Once you’ve identified your fishing group, it’s best to get on the books as early as possible. Our guide service has 6 full time fishing guides that operate business under Stott’s Fishing Adventures year around.
