Dworshak Reservoir Guided Fishing Trips
Smallmouth Bass Fishing on the Dworshak Reservoir – Simply World Class!
Ranked top 10 smallmouth fisheries in the United States – wild and scenic Idaho’s Clearwater mountains
The Dworshak was once a hidden gem that only the locals knew about, fast forward to perhaps the finest smallmouth fishery in the country. The Dworshak Reservoir has spectacular smallmouth habitat that stretches over 50 miles and covers 17,000 surface acres. Not only is the fishing incredible, the ponderosa pines and shale cliffs decorating the reservoir is a photographers dream. Did we mention, we think the next world record smallmouth is living here.
Our Pro-guide team fishes the reservoir year-round targeting fish in the 9- pound class. In fact, the state record holder, Joey Walton spear heads our bass department. If that’s not enough, his tournament partner Jaden Phillips continues to put BIG fish in nets. If you are after numbers, it’s not uncommon to catch 100 bass in a day. Our Dworshak team knows where big fish roam.

Year-Round Fishing
Dworshak Reservoir means trophy bass-year-round. Pre-Spawn is one of the most exciting and productive time of the year to target trophy bass. Rising water temperatures push bass out of their deep winter holding areas to flats and main lake points.
Post Spawn for the angler that understands movement and timing can be super rewarding. Bass are setting up on break lines, points and offshore structure. As the lake continues to warm, post-spawn bass shift from survival mode into recovery feeding becoming super predictable. This is when Dworshak starts to show the potential as advertised.
Fall and Winter offers some of the most consistent opportunities for anglers wanting to slow things down with intention of a PB. Trophy sized bass feed heavily on baitfish pushed into the creeks and along main-lake structure, all stemming from cooling water. This time of year is for serious anglers targeting GIANTS!

Unique Bass Habitat
Dworshak Reservoir offers some of the most diverse and productive bass habitat in the Pacific Northwest. The 17,000-acre reservoir has it all, rock structure, main lake points, steep bluffs, sharp drop offs, creek arms, spawning flats, humps, standing timber and shade trees. The combination of super clean water, abundant forage and deep-water access supports our big bass growing fishery. Key point: we understand how bass use this habitat through each season.
